Early Childhood Students Benefit from Lansing Educational Foundation Classroom Grant
Thanks to the generosity of the Lansing Educational Foundation, new early childhood no-fee teacher Crystal Alexander had her grant “Getting Some Culture & Community in Early Childhood” fully funded. Early childhood is the ideal time to begin emphasizing the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
With this grant, early childhood teachers will be able to provide students with various props and materials that represent different cultures, ways of life, and people in our community. The hope is to expose children to differences in a positive play setting that allows them to ask questions and expand their play. While supporting diversity in early childhood, we hope to help children to feel good about themselves, their families, and their communities.
Lansing Early Childhood has been growing, and the Lansing Education Foundation has been so supportive and helpful in providing materials for our growing program.
