Lansing USD469 Transportation Department Holds Team-Building Chili Cookoff Competition
Our Lansing USD469 Transportation Department recently organized a chili cooking competition to foster camaraderie and teamwork. The event, held on Wednesday, October 18, brought together bus drivers, monitors, crossing guards, and district office staff for an afternoon of culinary rivalry.
Members of the transportation department and representatives from the district office, including Superintendent Kobza, judged the competition. Although the competition was fierce, Bus Driver Laurie Lanning was victorious, claiming the grand prize with her chili creation.
Transportation Department Director Jim Slapper is incredibly proud of his department and thought the event was a tremendous success. "I want to thank our Routing Coordinator, Janine Shields, for organizing the event and my entire department for participating and working hard each day to keep our students safe. They are all team players."
This event served as a testament to the strong sense of community within the transportation department. If you are passionate about student safety and community engagement, consider joining our transportation department. Click here for more information about how to apply.
