Lansing USD469 Holds Second Strategic Planning Committee Meeting
Lansing USD469 is excited to partner with Greenbush to implement a 5-Year Strategic Plan. Our second strategic planning meeting was held on Wednesday, January 4th, at Lansing High School. The purpose of the second meeting was to set the action steps for five goal areas:
- Successful graduate - Facilitator LHS Principal Alan Penrose
- Positive culture - Facilitator LIS Principal Martin Altieri
- Collaboration and Communication - Facilitator Director of Communications and Marketing Sharon Burns
- Whole-Child Approach - Facilitators Director of Special Education Ascendra Donald and Early Childhood Administrator Becca Dalton
- Operations, Budget, and Management - Facilitator LMS Principal Brooks Jenkins and LES Principal Jennifer Kolb
The January 4th meeting started with an introduction from Superintendent Wessel, Executive Director Bart Swartz, and School Board President Pete Robinson.
After the initial introductions, each strategic planning committee member was assigned a group and met with a cohort in one of the five areas to provide feedback to the facilitator in their room. This was the final public input process for the strategic planning, and the feedback collected will be used to inform the development of 5-7 action steps per big area.
After the feedback is compiled from the January 4th meeting, our district administration and Mr. Swartz will review the information and create action steps for each large focus area. A draft of the plan will be created so it can be presented to the Board of Education for the first read. Once the first read is complete, a digital survey will be sent to all committee members, along with the draft of the plan, to allow each member to give feedback on action steps in all of the large goal areas. Once that information has been compiled, our administration and Greenbush will meet and create the final version of our Strategic Plan, which will be presented to the board. We aim to have final approval from the Lansing USD469 Board of Education at the April School Board Meeting.
The goal of the Strategic Planning Meeting is to create a comprehensive plan for the future of Lansing USD469 that is informed by community feedback. The plan is meant to help ensure that Lansing USD469 can meet the needs of its students, staff, and community for years to come.
