Health and Hygiene Information
Below are a few tips on things that we can do ourselves to help prevent the spread of germs:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Stay home if you are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash - if you do not have a tissue cough or sneeze into your sleeve and not your hand
- Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
While these hygiene tips are being talked about more in the recent weeks, these are good habits to make on a daily basis. I would like to stress the importance of using disinfecting wipes to clean hard surfaces, iPads and cell phones a minimum of twice daily.Fun tips to help students (especially our younger population!) and adults with how long to wash their hands: sing the happy birthday song; sing the ABC's.Thank you to everyone for your help in keeping our students and staff healthy and germ free!Kristen Dilka, BSN, RNSpecial Education – District Coordinating NurseLansing USD 469p (913)727-1755 ext 1503
