The Board of Education discussed/voted on the following items during our regular Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 9, 2022:
- Superintendent Dan Wessel presented the Projected Cash Balance Summary at Year End (as of 4/30/22)

Superintendent Dan Wessel presented a first read of the proposed Social Media Policy. This policy will be reviewed by the board more extensively during the upcoming board work session on May 16, 2022.

Board Member Amy Cawvey presented a first read of a proposed Parent Bill of Rights. The board is waiting until after the next legislative session later this month to revisit the policy.

The board voted and approved an audit by Bert Moore from KSDE to begin our Special Education Department audit on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.

Superintendent Dan Wessel gave an update on the HVAC system. There is a meeting to finalize the bid to have the system repaired before the end of summer 2022.

The board voted and approved the First-Year Alumni Survey to be sent to our graduating class.

The board voted and approved a work session on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 6:00 pm to discuss Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training as well as handbooks.

The board voted and approved a $50,984 grant for the Lansing Preschool and Childcare playground proposal.

The board voted and approved adopting the Actively Learn Social Studies curriculum for grades 6-12.

The board reviewed the Recommended Life Cycle based on the BOE Goals.

Superintendent Dan Wessel gave an overview of what an Individual Plan of Study (IPS) is and how the high school College Career Readiness (CCR) class addresses it. Board Member Carla Wiegers presented the idea of a senior project being incorporated into our high school courses.

Superintendent Wessel gave an update on the tennis courts at the high school.
