Board of Education Meeting Recap - Monday, March 7, 2022 (Regular Meeting)

The Board of Education discussed/voted on the following items during our regular Board of Education meeting on Monday, March 7, 2022:
- Superintendent Dan Wessel presented the Projected Cash Balance Summary at Year End (as of 2/28/22)

Board member Carla Wiegers presented Title IX information and the board discussed policy review and updates.

The board voted and approved to cease daily reporting of COVID cases in our district. We will continue to monitor cases and begin reporting if percentage of cases is 3% or higher.

Superintendent Wessel gave an update on the Social Media Policy. It will be revisited when we approve handbooks in the summer.

The board voted and approved a Nepotism Policy.

The board discussed visiting buildings and procedures to contact school administration on activities going on in each building.

The board discussed approving LMS and LHS clubs. This will be brought back for discussion during the April 11th board meeting.

Superintendent Wessel gave an update on our strategic planning process with Greenbush.

The board voted and approved using a procurement company to solicit bids for the LIS HVAC system.

Superintendent Wessel briefed the board on the current state of the LHS tennis courts and mitigation efforts taken in the past to rectify the problems.

Board member Carla Wiegers gave a presentation about Individual Plans of Study (IPS) and College Career Ready (CCR) information to prepare our students for our future.

The board voted and approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Saint Mary for duel credit courses to be offered at LHS. This memorandum includes a decrease in tuition from what had been charged in the past.
- The board voted on and approved staff changes. We want to welcome the following individuals to the Lansing USD 469 family:
- Monique Cribbs - Registrar at Lansing High School
- Martin Altieri - Principal of Lansing Intermediate School
- Jennifer Kolb - Principal of Lansing Elementary School
- William Bernard - Custodian at Lansing Elementary School
