The Board of Education discussed/voted on the following items during our regular Board of Education meeting on Monday, January 9, 2023:
Call to Order and Roll Call (9:20)
- Board voted and approved Jeff Bollin becoming the new BOE president and Amy Cawvey the new Vice-President for the 2023 calendar year.
- Recognition of Stand-out Students and Staff - (12:15)
- Congratulations to Emma Brommel and Jan Zoellner
Approval of Consent Agenda -(17:26)
- The board voted and approved the consent agenda items.
Public Presentations - (17:53)
- There were seven individuals who spoke during Public Presentations
- The board voted and approved allowing three speakers additional time to speak -.

- The BOE reviewed the following Director reports:
Admin Reports (1:05:10)
- There were no admin reports this month due to winter break
New Business
- Board Work Sessions (1:05:52)
- The board voted and approved having curriculum document completed and ready to present to the board by May 31, 2023
- The board voted and approved the Proposed BOE Work Sessions
- Club Constitutions (1:27:07)
- Pete asked why the club constitutions haven’t been given to the board for vetting and approval
- Dan said he will provide it by February meeting
- USD 469 Organizational Chart (1:24:30)
- The board will discuss and vote on the organizational chart in February 2023
- Renaming building (1:36:35)
- The board voted and approved changing the name of the building at 210 East Mary from New Beginnings/Special Education Admin to Lansing Early Childhood Center
- Evaluation Overview (1:37:54)
- The board will discuss evaluations during the February 2023 board meeting.
Old Business
- Board Policy Updates – December 2022 (1:38:28)
- December 2022 Updated KASB Policies and Forms
- Board voted and approved the KASB policy 4-3
- Tennis Courts – Update (1:55:43)
o The final results are scheduled next week from the lab with recommended mitigation possibilities.
- HVAC Update (2:00:10)
o ESSER 3 application submitted and will be sent to directors on Thursday for review. We used the supplant method to use ESSER dollars to pay for materials and positions that meet criteria. This will free up dollars in funds to pay for HVAC.
