Mainstreet Credit Union and Lansing Educational Foundation sponsor all-district luncheon
The Lansing School District partnered with Mainstreet Credit Union and Lansing Educational Foundation to hold its second annual All-District Luncheon on Thursday, August 13th. Lunch was catered by Jason's Deli and included individual boxed lunches for each staff member.
Mainstreet Credit Union made a generous donation to cover the cost of the certified staff at the event and brought raffle prizes that were given away to lucky staff members whose names were drawn. Mainstreet Credit Union has twelve branches in the Kansas City area, with a local branch in Leavenworth at 1608 S. Main Street.
Lansing Educational Foundation (LEF) also sponsored the luncheon, covering the costs of all classified staff. The foundation has held an annual BBQ Bash in years past for just the classified staff to thank them for all they do for the district. They were excited to partner with Mainstreet Credit Union and the school district the past two years. Classified staff consists of secretaries, custodians, maintenance department, central office staff, nurses, para professionals, ISS Aides, library aides, food service (cooks), counselors, social workers, ELL facilitators, crossing guards, special education paras, substitutes, transportation, coordinators, and special education support staff for Lansing.
"Although this year's luncheon looked quite a bit different with masks and social distancing, we were thrilled to be able to partner with Mainstreet Credit Union and provide free lunches for each staff member," said Sharon Burns, Director of Lansing Educational Foundation.
The district hopes to continue this new tradition of having a combined event where all staff, certified and classified, have the opportunity to connect again before the new school year begins.
