Parents as Teachers Educator Lisa Hope Receives Mildred Winter's Parents as Teachers Scholarship
"Lisa Hope has a servant's heart that goes above and beyond for the families she serves. Lisa builds rapport and truly knows the families on her caseload. Lisa has served some of our most difficult families, never believing that any family or child is too difficult or not worthy of a partnership for success. Our program would not be as successful without all of Lisa's talents." This quote is from the scholarship essay by Parents as Teachers Coordinator Kelly Faulk.
Lansing USD469 is thrilled to announce that Lisa Hope is the 2023 recipient of the Mildred Winter's Parents as Teachers scholarship. This scholarship covers the fees of attending the Parents as Teachers National Conference. Only seven Parent Educators in the country were awarded this honor.
Mildred Winter, Founder of Parents as Teachers, was a pioneer in early childhood. She believed that all children deserved school readiness and wellness despite income level, marital status, education level, or absence of delay or living with delay. Parents as Teachers will never have a qualifier. Lisa knows that learning starts from the moment a child enters this world. Lisa embodies Mildred Winter's passion to educate and support parents and children through their early journeys in life. Lisa believes that successful children who are encouraged will meet their full potential when parents are supported, encouraged, and heard.
USD 469 is proud to have Lisa Hope on our team as a Parent Educator for Parents as Teachers.
