Attention Parents: Be Aware of Dangers of Fentanyl in Lansing Community
We want to make parents aware of the recent discovery of fentanyl and other drugs in our Lansing community, particularly in our student population. Fentanyl is a highly potent opioid that is often mixed with other drugs, making it even more dangerous. Even a small amount of fentanyl can cause a fatal overdose, which is why it is so important to be informed and aware of its presence in our community.
One of the most concerning aspects of fentanyl is that it can be difficult to detect. It can be found in a variety of forms, including pills, powders, and even liquids. This makes it particularly dangerous for students, who may be tempted to experiment with drugs without realizing the potential consequences.
To help educate parents and community members about the dangers of fentanyl, our school district will be hosting a "One Pill Can Kill" Community Informational Night on February 15, 2023. During this event, experts will provide information on the signs of drug use, the dangers of fentanyl, and what parents can do to keep their children safe.
We encourage all parents and community members to attend this important event. Watch the district website and social media for more information. Together, we can work to keep our students safe and healthy.
It's also important for parents to have a open communication with their children, be aware of the signs of drug use, and take action if they suspect their child may be using drugs. Parents should also make sure to educate their children on the dangers of drugs, including fentanyl, and encourage them to make healthy choices.
