Lansing Middle School Lion's Pantry in need of non-perishable food items- week of April 6, 2020
Dear Parents,
I will be sending out a weekly request of the top five items the Lion’s Pantry is in need of most for the upcoming week.
Click here for information about how the Lansing's Lion's Pantry has been helping our community. “THE LION’S PANTRY” is a self-sustaining pantry, dependent on donations from parents and community members. We currently service 24 students and their families. Our numbers have been increasing since the pandemic outbreak. Many of our citizens no longer are working and desperately need the help of those more fortunate. If as many people as possible would donate a few items, we can meet the needs of our current pantry recipients and future ones as well. I ask each of you to be as generous as possible as I believe the requests for food from the Lion’s Pantry will continue to grow. Together, we can feed the less fortunate.
Under the current "normal," we relocated the pantry to the Crossroads Methodist Church where the church members graciously allow us to operate. A special thanks to one of its members, Jean Gaslin, who has been the director of our pantry for the last year. All donations can be brought to the Crossroads Methodist Church and there will a box at the front door where you may place any donations.
The address for Crossroads Methodist Church is: 101 East Gilman Road, Lansing, KS 66043.
The top five non-perishable items for this week are as follows:
- Dry Pasta
- Pasta Sauce (canned or plastic)
- Jelly (plastic)
- Soups
- Tuna
We thank you in advance for your donations. Your generosity will keep our pantry operational during this difficult time.
Be safe,
