Thanks to Oak Creek Nursery, second graders get to decorate rocks to beautify the second grade garden!
Second grade students have been working hard maintaining the garden beds outside the second grade hallway on the southwest corner of Lansing Elementary School. The beds were built last year as part of the second grade Earth Day projects in April. For more about last year's earth day activities, click here.
Mrs. Gutshall reached out to Oak Creek Nursery earlier this school year, and they generously donated rocks that the students were able to paint and put on display in the garden beds. "It is part of a continuing science project and we, as second grade teachers, hope to model caring for our world to our children," said Mrs. Carla Gutshall. "We want our students to see how important even small projects are to our world and what a positive impact it has on our school."
We hope you will check out their work outside the second grade hallway next time you are at Lansing Elementary School! Great job little Lions!
