Law Day Student Art Contest Highlights Voices of Democracy
Lansing USD469 is excited to partner with the Leavenworth County Attorney's office leading up to Law Day on May 1, 2024. Lansing Intermediate School art students, led by teacher Libby Stevenson, are participating in an art contest themed around "Voices of Democracy Through Voting."
The contest aims to highlight the significance of voting through artistic expression. This initiative aligns with the broader Law Day theme of "Voices of Democracy," emphasizing civic engagement and the power of individual voices in our democracy.
Students from Lansing Intermediate School embraced the challenge. 5th-grade artists created pieces that capture the theme of civic participation, and 4th-grade students selected which pieces would be showcased. Over the coming days leading up to Law Day on May 1, the Leavenworth County Attorney's office will showcase individual artworks on their social media platforms.
The Leavenworth County Attorney's office will be voting and will announce the results on Law Day on May 1. For more details and to view the showcased artworks, follow the Leavenworth County Attorney's office on Facebook.
Thank you to Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson, Leavenworth County Attorney Public Information Officer Micah Bray, and Lansing Art Teacher Libby Stevenson for creating this opportunity for our students!
