Second-Graders Have Second Round of Living History Museum Presentation on Friday, March 25th
Second-grade teachers Shalee Eilderts and Wykeya Taylor held their class Living History Museums on Friday, March 25th. Parents and staff members were invited to the event, where students showcased their biography book reports by becoming the person they had selected and been learning about this month. The students were each assigned a famous person to research at the beginning of the month. They had to come up with at least five interesting facts about that person and create a presentation to give as that individual. Characters included Gabrielle Channel, Barack Obama, Joan of Arc, John F. Kennedy, and more.
"Our students enjoyed doing their Biographies Alive Project," said Ms. Taylor. "Reading and researching about the real-life and success of remarkable people gave them a glimpse of the different challenges that others may have to overcome and a chance to make a personal connection with them. I pray that this experience has inspired and motivated them to let them know that they too can overcome and are destined to do great things."
