Lansing USD 469 is proud to highlight our Lansing High School students and graduates enrolled in Kansas City Kansas Community Center Pioneer Career Center (KCKCC PCC) each week.
This week's update covers Construction, CNA, Culinary, and HVAC.
Culinary
Culinary students made crème brulée. Crème brulée is a creamy, pudding-like, baked custard with a brittle top. Students used a crème brulée torch to caramelize the sugar on the top to form a brittle crust.
Culinary: Francisco Verzola
Vitals
CNA students learned about the parts of a stethoscope and the uses for this tool. The diaphragm on the tool is best for higher pitched sounds, like breath sounds and normal heart sounds. The bell is best for detecting lower pitch sounds, like heart murmurs, and bowel sounds.
CNA: McKenzie Moburg
Drop Ceiling
Construction students are installing a drop ceiling and tiles in an off-site house. Students learned how to install the metal ceiling grid and cut and mount wall tiles.
Construction: Lansing HS Graduate, Cameron Ernzen
Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
HVAC students have a new PLC training system room in the HVAC lab. Students will learn input/output signals for programming, configure alarms, troubleshooting, and more. Students are also using different training boards to wire switches and lights.
HVAC: Ethan Cunning and Maddux Lemke
