Mrs. Robinson's Second Grade Class Makes History Come Alive with Living History/ Biographies Alive Presentations
Students in Mrs. Robinson's second-grade class completed their February book report on Friday, February 25th, with presentations for parents and other staff members. February's book report theme was biographies, and the students were each assigned a famous person at the beginning of the month to research. They had to come up with at least five interesting facts about that person and create a presentation to give as that individual. Characters included Mia Hamm, Neil Armstrong, Helen Keller, Sacajawea, and more!
Students became experts on their famous person during February and came to school dressed as their character on February 25th. The gymnasium was turned into a wax museum, and students stood still until visitors pushed a pretend button on the floor to turn on the character and hear their life story. The students did an incredible job bringing their characters to life!
Students performed God Bless America and America the Beautiful in sign language for parents and staff to kick off the presentations. The class has been working hard this year to learn the songs and did an incredible job!
