Weekly Update of Lansing High School Students Enrolled in KCKCC Pioneer Classes - Construction and Culinary
This week at KCKCC Pioneer Career Center, Lansing High School senior, Cameron Ernzen, has been building stairs in his construction course. Students had to determine measurements for the tread to riser ratio and the pitch of the staircase. Students also determined the rake rail height and the guard rail height when building the rail for the stairs.
In the KCKCC PCC culinary course, LHS senior Anamaria Gonzalez learned how to make mayonnaise and the importance of adding the oil slowly to transform he liquid into mayonnaise and then seasoning it to taste.
As a reminder, KCKCC Pioneer Career Center offers the following TEC programs to high school students in the area (Leavenworth, Lansing, Tonganoxie, Pleasant Ridge):
