Congratulations to Diane Kelly on being named Lansing USD 469 Educational Support Professional of the Year!
Lansing Educational Foundation was honored to name Lansing Elementary School Library Aide, Mrs. Diane Kelly, one of two Educational Support Professionals of the Year! Mrs. Kelly has worked at the elementary school for the past fifteen years, serving as a para professional for the first three years and transitioning to library aide for the past twelve.
One of her nominators, Mrs. Carla Gutshall, had wonderful things to say about the work Mrs. Kelly does for the students in our district. "Diane provides a positive environment in the library to foster a love for reading in children. Diane is very supportive of teachers in gathering materials, helping children find "good fit" books, and creating a checkout schedule complementing classroom schedules."
It was also noted that "Mrs. Kelly takes on extra duties to keep children monitored" and "frequently volunteers to stay past her duty day to help out when there is a need."
Mrs. Kelly was notified of the award at an elementary school staff meeting on Thursday, April 9th. "Working with such an amazing group of people makes being part of a successful support staff team possible."
Lansing School District is so very fortunate to have Mrs. Kelly supporting the teachers and students in Lansing!
