Coach Larry Hogan, Credit Recovery/ ISS Room Monitor
Question: How long have you worked for Lansing USD469?
Answer: 5 years
Question: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and the role you have within the school district?
Answer: I have worked in public education as a teacher, coach, and monitor for a number of years. I have a daughter, step-son, and wife Marsha. Helping young people to reach their goals is very rewarding.
Question: What do you enjoy most about your role and the work you do in the school district?
Answer: I enjoy the relationship that you build with students long after they graduate and go on to be successful in life.
Question: When you're not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?
Answer: Sports, Basketball, Baseball, Football Hanging out with my DOG!
Question: Could you share a particularly heartwarming or memorable experience you've had while working with students or colleagues?
Answer: One student last year worked really HARD to finish her credit recovery classes to graduate. She finished it on the last day. When Mr. Cackler told her she would walk for graduation, she was in tears. It was heart warming to see. She lived with her grandmother and it was her grandmother who inspired the young lady to finish. Hard Work Pays OFF!!
Question: What piece of advice would you like to offer to students to help them succeed and make the most of their educational journey?
Answer: Don't Quit!! If everything were fair and just, there would be no need for courage! Stay with it!! You will find your way!
