Superintendent Dan Wessel Visits Transportation Department on School Transportation Appreciation Day (VIDEO)
Lansing USD 469 would like to thank our Director of Transportation, Jim Slapper, and each of our incredible transportation department employees for playing a vital role in the safety of our students.
Superintendent Dan Wessel delivered donuts to the Transportation Department on Wednesday, October 20th, and expressed his appreciation to the staff during his visit (see video below).
"You do everything from making sure (our students) are safe here to making sure they are loved when they get on and when they get off the bus. I know how important that is, and I appreciate you every single day."
Make sure to thank a transportation department employee this week, from the crossing guards to the bus monitors to the bus drivers. Lansing USD 469 is a fantastic place because of their level of care in keeping our students safe each day!
School Transportation Appreciation Day falls during National School Bus Safety Week (October 18-22) and is designated to promote school bus safety. The theme of this year's safety week campaign is "Be Safe - Know the Danger Zone."
