Lansing Middle School Presents: Junie B. Jones The Musical JR. Get ready to laugh, sing, and celebrate childhood with Lansing Middle School’s upcoming performance of Junie B. Jones The Musical JR. This lively and heartwarming musical is based on the beloved book series by Barbara Park and brings to life the spirited adventures of Junie B. as she navigates the ups and downs of first grade. With book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich, the musical is adapted from several favorites in the Junie B. Jones series, including Junie B. Jones Is a Graduation Girl, Junie B. Jones: First Grader at Last!, Boss of Lunch, Toothless Wonder, and Top-Secret Personal Beeswax: A Journal by Junie B. (and Me). Originally produced by Theatreworks/USA, this production is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI), which also supplies all authorized performance materials. This annual event features student artwork from all grade levels—elementary, intermediate, middle, and high school—and offers a vibrant display of visual talent across the district. In addition to viewing incredible student art, families can enjoy hands-on activities for kids and participate in a morning of fun and inspiration. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our young artists while engaging with the greater Lansing community. Lansing USD469 is excited to share that Inclusion Awareness Week is coming up from March 31 – April 4, and we would love your support in making it a meaningful experience for our students! This week is all about fostering kindness, empathy, and belonging within our school community. What’s Happening? Daily Spirit Themes – Encourage students to dress up and express inclusion in fun ways: Monday: Be a Hero for Inclusion – Dress as your favorite superhero! Tuesday: Walk in Someone Else’s Shoes – Wear mismatched shoes or dress like someone who inspires you. Wednesday: Everyone Belongs: Mix it Up – Wear mismatched clothes or crazy socks to celebrate differences. Thursday: Celebrate Our Differences – Each grade/group wears a different color to showcase diversity. Friday: Team Up for Inclusion – Wear your favorite sports/team gear to show unity! We appreciate your help in making this week an impactful experience for our students. Let’s work together to create a school environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued!

Wear green on March 25th to support Cerebral Palsy Awareness! #GoGreen4CP Cerebral Palsy is a condition that affects thousands of babies each year. It is not contagious and can range from mild to severe. People with Cerebral Palsy have trouble controlling the muscles of the body, making everyday tasks more of a challenge. Even though they may seem different, they are just like you, so never be afraid to be their friend!

REMINDER! STEAM Museum at Lansing Intermediate School! The Mobile Ed. STEAM Museum has arrived at Lansing Intermediate School (LIS) for an exciting hands-on learning experience! Event Dates: March 11 & 12 – Daytime sessions for 4th and 5th grade students at LIS March 11 | 5:00-7:00 PM – Family Night (Open to all district families) at LIS This interactive, state-of-the-art portable museum will transform the school into an immersive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning environment. Students will explore hands-on stations featuring robotics, 3D printing, simple machines, engineering challenges, and more! The event is made possible by a generous grant from the Lansing Educational Foundation (LEF) for the daytime sessions and support from the LIS PTA for the evening event. As we have now used all of our allotted snow days for the year, adjustments were made to our schedule to ensure we meet the required instructional hours without adding an extra day to the calendar. Late start Thursdays will now only occur on the following dates for the remainder of the school year: March 6 April 3 May 8 On all other Thursdays, including tomorrow, school will begin at the regular start time.
