Due to forecasted frigid temperatures expected to continue through noon tomorrow, along with refreezing on country roads that will create dangerous driving conditions, Lansing USD 469 including Y-Care will be closed on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Daycare will be open.
We will be following Inclement Weather Plan D. Our closure guidelines are available here:
https://www.usd469.net/page/inclement-weather-closure-guidelines
In summary:
District buildings and offices will be closed (except for daycare).
All activities and events are canceled.
We know closures impact schedules, and we appreciate your flexibility. Our priority is safe travel for students, staff, and buses, especially on rural routes.
Please stay warm and safe. We will continue to communicate any additional updates through Skyward, our website, and social media.

A few reminders for today:
- Normal dismissal: We plan to finish the day with our regular dismissal time. This gives our crews additional time to clear snow and treat areas as the snowfall slows down.
- Early pickup: Parents/guardians may make the final decision to pick students up early if you feel conditions warrant it. Please contact your child’s school office first so we can ensure a safe and smooth checkout.
- Weather-related absences: If you decide to keep your child home or pick them up early due to road conditions, those absences will be excused. Please notify the school as you normally would.
Thanks again for your understanding and support. Please stay safe and travel carefully.
Students will return to class on Monday, December 1.
Lansing USD469 hopes all our families enjoy a safe, restful, and meaningful holiday break!
