Students in Ms. Samantha Dale’s class are getting hands-on with science this week as they build papier-mâché volcanoes using recycled materials and homemade cornstarch paste. The project gives students the opportunity to combine creativity, problem-solving, and scientific thinking while learning about volcano structures and earth science concepts.
Over the next few days, students will continue shaping their volcanoes before adding paint and finishing details on Monday. The classroom may be a little messy, but it’s all part of the learning process as students experience the fun and creativity that can come with science exploration.
This project also highlights the importance of reusing materials in creative ways, turning everyday recyclable items into engaging learning opportunities.
