Four Lansing Middle School Students Selected for KMEA Middle-Level All-State Choir

Lansing Middle School had four singers selected to the KMEA Middle-Level All-State Choir. These students participated in a blind audition and were selected to be a part of the honor choir. In total, 963 students auditioned across the state of Kansas and a total of 163 singers from 82 different schools were selected. To be selected is a high honor and showcases the wonderful talent and dedication of our young singers.

Students Selected - Dakota Vaughan (8th Grade), Aubrey O’Reilly (8th Grade), Amara Robinson (8th Grade), Melanie McReynolds (7th Grade)

Students got to watch performances from Olathe East and Emporia State University as well as participate in rehearsals all day Friday, February 28th with renowned conductor and clinician, Dr. Julie Yu. Students then performed in an evening joint concert with the KCDA Treble Honor Choir.

These students had a fantastic time and served as great representatives of Lansing Middle School to showcase the fine arts at the state level.
