Lansing Middle School is inviting community members to take part in an exciting opportunity to inspire students during second semester Career Presentations.
Every Friday, 8th-grade students participate in Career Presentations during study hall, where they hear directly from professionals about real-world careers, daily responsibilities, education and training pathways, and lessons learned along the way. These sessions give students valuable insight as they begin thinking about life after high school.
Thanks to strong community support during first semester, students were able to explore a wide range of professions, and they’re eager to learn even more.
Student-Requested Career Fields
During a recent classroom lesson, students shared specific careers they would like to learn more about. While all careers are welcome, students expressed particular interest in:
Cosmetology
Construction (all trades and roles)
Graphic Design
Engineering
Floral Design
Counseling
Video Game Development
Automotive/Mechanical Fields
What Presenters Can Expect
Presentations take place every Friday during study hall
Time commitment is approximately 12:30–1:14 p.m.
Speakers share details about their career field, education or training, work environment, and career journey
Students are encouraged to ask questions and engage in conversation
This program is coordinated by Mrs. Becky Wecas, Lansing Middle School Counselor, who is working to ensure students have consistent career exploration opportunities each Friday throughout the semester.
