Lansing High School sophomore Gabriel Njoku is stepping up to serve others through an impactful Eagle Scout service project that supports students right here in Lansing USD469.
As an Eagle Scout candidate with Troop 165 in Lansing, Gabriel is leading “Soles for Souls,” a community shoe drive focused on collecting new or gently used athletic shoes for students in need. The goal of the project is to collect 600 pairs of shoes by the end of the drive, helping ensure students have appropriate footwear for school, sports, and everyday activities.
Donation barrels are located in the front offices of each school, making it easy for families and staff to contribute. Shoes should be clean and in good condition.
This project reflects the values of service, leadership, and care for others that are central to both the Eagle Scout journey and the Lansing USD469 school community.
Community members who would like to support the Soles for Souls shoe drive are encouraged to donate or help spread the word. For more information, Gabriel can be contacted directly.
