We’re excited to introduce Mr. Marek Burns, one of our new 8th-grade Interrelated Special Education teachers at Lansing Middle School! A Leavenworth native, Mr. Burns is currently attending Fort Hays State University, continuing his studies as a Registered Teacher Apprentice.
Mr. Burns comes from a family that’s part of the Lansing Middle School community - his younger brother is an 8th-grade student this year! He says it’s been fun to see him in the halls during the school day.
Outside of school, Mr. Burns enjoys taking care of his two cats, playing guitar, and watching football each week. He also has a creative side. One of his favorite hobbies is woodworking. When it’s time to relax, you might find him watching his favorite TV show, Attack on Titan.
As he settles into his first year at LMS, Mr. Burns says he’s excited to spend a full school year with his students and help them find the best paths to success. “Finding the best possible route for each student’s success is incredibly important and fulfilling to me,” he shared. “As I get to know everyone better, this will get easier and easier.”
We’re thrilled to have Mr. Burns on the Lansing Middle School team and can’t wait to see the impact he makes throughout the year!
