On Tuesday, September 16th, the Lansing Educational Foundation (LEF) team visited Lansing USD469 classrooms to surprise educators across the district with grant awards during their annual “Pride Patrol.”
This year, LEF awarded over 50 grants totaling $45,000, supporting innovative projects designed to enrich student learning and foster creativity in the classroom. In total, these grants will impact more than 75 teachers across the district. With this round of funding, LEF has now donated more than $750,000 to Lansing USD469 since its inception in 2004.
“These grant checks are a reflection of our community’s generosity. Pride Patrol lets us show teachers firsthand that their ideas matter and that Lansing stands behind them,” said Andrew Cameron, President of the Lansing Educational Foundation.
Accompanying Mr. Cameron were Director Kara Thompson, several LEF board members, Superintendent Marty Kobza, and Director of Teaching & Learning Miles Azzeh. The group visited classrooms across the district to hand-deliver grant checks and celebrate with educators.
The Pride Patrol exemplifies LEF’s mission to enhance the excellence of the learning environment in partnership with schools and the community. Each year, this event brings a renewed sense of purpose and excitement, made possible by the foundation’s leaders, donors, and the dedication of Lansing educators.
