Kansas State Department of Education’s Insight Podcast hosted by Kansas Commissioner of Education Dr. Randy Watson, will launch on Thursday, March 27. This new podcast explores the people, policies, and progress shaping education in Kansas—topics that impact not only our schools but also our workforce, communities, and economy. Our first episode, "From Slate to Screen: The Journey of Public Education," takes a step back in time to better understand how we got here. From one-room schoolhouses with slate boards to today’s dynamic, technology-driven classrooms, education in Kansas has evolved significantly. But what policies, reforms, and pivotal moments shaped this journey? And what lessons can we apply to the future? We invite you to share this opportunity with educators and parents so they can engage with the insights and discussions that influence the future of Kansas education and workforce development. Insight Podcast is available on Spotify and wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts. New episodes will air the second Thursday of each month beginning in April. Please let me know if there is a particular topic you would like covered on a future episode.
