Lansing High School Forensics Team Shines at State Tournament

Lansing High School’s Forensics team delivered an outstanding performance at the 5A State Forensics Tournament held this past weekend at Valley Center High School, earning top honors and showcasing the talent of our students.

Leading the way, Mia Jaskowiec was crowned State Champion in Original Oration, demonstrating exceptional skill in crafting and delivering a compelling original speech. Joining her at the top of the podium, Bayne Yoakam earned the title of State Champion in Lincoln Douglas Debate, highlighting his strength in critical thinking, argumentation, and poise under pressure.

In addition, Eliana Silva earned a 4th place finish in Humorous Interpretation, bringing creativity and strong performance skills to the state stage.

The team’s season is far from over. Lansing Forensics is now preparing to compete on the national stage, heading to the NIETOC National Tournament in Minnesota this weekend and the NSDA National Tournament in Virginia later this summer.

The Lansing community wishes these talented students the best of luck as they continue their remarkable season.
