Lansing Baseball Honors Julie Ascher Through 1st Pitch Club

The Lansing High School Baseball program continues its 1st Pitch Club tradition this season, recognizing individuals who have made a lasting impact on the Lansing community.

The 1st Pitch Club celebrates those who help make Lansing a place people are proud to call home. Throughout the season, the high school baseball staff invites military veterans, first responders, USD 469 staff members, and community members with a lasting legacy to throw out a ceremonial first pitch before games.

At a recent game, the program proudly recognized Julie Ascher as the evening’s honoree.

Julie is celebrating 15 years as Lansing High School’s athletic trainer, supporting student-athletes across all sports. For more than a decade, she has played a vital role in keeping athletes healthy, helping them return to play, and providing guidance along the way.

After years spent supporting teams from the sidelines and dugouts, Julie stepped onto the field for her well-earned moment. Known affectionately as “mom” by many athletes, long before becoming a mother herself two years ago, she has been a consistent and caring presence for countless students.

The Lansing High School Baseball program is proud to recognize Julie Ascher for her dedication, care, and commitment to Lansing students and athletics.
