KCKCC Pioneer Career Center Lansing HS student

Lansing High School senior Eli Gosney is gaining valuable, real-world experience through the Electrical program at the KCKCC Pioneer Career Center.

Students in the program are currently working with electrical training boards to learn how to wire switches, including 4-way, 3-way, and dimmer switches. These boards provide a safe, hands-on environment where students can practice circuit wiring while building confidence in their technical skills.

The electrical boards are designed to simulate real-world scenarios, allowing students to troubleshoot issues and receive immediate feedback on their work. This practical application helps reinforce classroom learning and prepares students for future careers in the electrical field.

Opportunities like this highlight the importance of Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways for Lansing students. As shared in the district’s bond website and presentations, one of the strongest areas of community support is expanding CTE opportunities to better prepare students for high-demand careers. If approved, the proposed bond would allow the district to enhance and expand CTE programming, creating even more hands-on learning experiences like the one Eli is experiencing through the Pioneer Career Center.

We are proud of Eli for representing Lansing High School and for taking advantage of this opportunity to build skills that support both career readiness and future success.
