Lansing High School graduate Katie Gray (Class of 2022) is making headlines at the collegiate level and rewriting the record books along the way.
Gray, now a senior infielder at Missouri Southern State University, was named the MIAA Hitter of the Week for Week Two of the 2026 softball season following a standout performance at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic (Feb. 6–8). The Lions posted a 5–1 record over the weekend, powered in large part by Gray’s offense.
During the tournament, Gray hit .500, collecting eight hits with a 1.375 slugging percentage and a .636 on-base percentage. She homered in four consecutive games, added two doubles, drove in 11 RBIs, and drew five walks. Gray recorded at least one hit in all six games and posted multi-hit performances against both Southeastern Oklahoma and Southwest Baptist.
Gray became Missouri Southern’s all-time career leader in both RBIs (143) and home runs (30), surpassing long-standing program records in each category.
Her success continues a proud tradition of Lansing alumni excelling beyond graduation. From the softball field at Lansing High School to the MIAA spotlight, Katie Gray’s work ethic, consistency, and competitive drive continue to shine.
Congratulations to Katie on an outstanding achievement!
