Lansing High School is proud to announce a new initiative designed to highlight the outstanding achievements of its student-athletes. Beginning this school year, the high school coaching staff has collaborated to create the “Coaches Club Male & Female Athlete of the Month” recognition program.
This honor will be awarded monthly to two athletes (one male and one female) who have demonstrated exceptional performance in their sport during competition.
“In-season head coaches have the opportunity to nominate athletes who have had an exceptional month in competition,” explained Head Baseball Coach and Social Studies Teacher Mike Basler, who helped lead the effort. “Nominees are collected, and then all head coaches vote on the monthly nominees to get winners.”
The chosen athletes will be recognized each month on the school’s video board and celebrated on the Lansing USD 469 district website.
The Coaches Club Athlete of the Month program not only celebrates athletic excellence but also reflects the district’s commitment to supporting student growth and achievement in all areas of life.
