Supporting first-year teachers and counselors is a priority in Lansing USD469! In addition to our Mentor Program, which provides every new teacher with a seasoned educator as a guide, we also offer a dedicated First-Year Teacher and Counselor Cohort.
This cohort, led by our Director of Communications & Marketing and Director of Teaching & Learning, is a monthly gathering that focuses on "just in time" learning, addressing the unique needs of educators as they navigate their first year. These sessions are not only about professional growth but also about building connections, building trust, and promoting positivity. To further personalize this support, we are currently holding one-on-one check-ins with each cohort member, ensuring individualized attention and tailored guidance.
This approach ensures that all new teachers and counselors are supported and equipped to succeed, both in and out of the classroom. By providing this dual-layered support system, we are investing in the success of our staff and the future of our students.
Our "Did You Know?" series showcases a statistic or fact about Lansing USD469 on our website and social media each week.
