We want to inform you that all Lansing USD469 schools and buildings will be open on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, despite the very cold temperatures in the forecast.
School provides a critical routine, support system, and learning environment for many of our students, and we strive to remain open whenever it is safe to do so. At the same time, we understand that every family’s situation is unique. If you feel uncomfortable sending your child to school due to local road conditions or other weather-related concerns, please know that parents always have the option to excuse an absence. Simply follow the usual process by notifying your child’s school office.
As temperatures will be extremely low, we encourage everyone to take extra precautions:
Dress warmly: Ensure your child is wearing layers, including hats, gloves, and scarves, to stay protected from the cold.
Limit outdoor time: If possible, reduce the time spent outside while waiting for buses or walking to school.
