Lansing Elementary School Interventionist Gabby Rader has been recognized by the Lansing USD 469 Board of Education as a May Staff Member of the Month.
Gabby was nominated by several colleagues who highlighted her extraordinary commitment to student growth, family communication, and staff collaboration throughout the school year.
One nominator described Gabby as “an exceptional interventionist who is redefining what it means to close the learning gap.” Through her expertise and dedication, student growth has become a consistent outcome for the students she serves.
Each week, Gabby communicates directly with families by sharing progress-monitoring data, celebrating student achievements, and providing additional resources to support learning at home. Staff members shared that parents greatly appreciate her thoughtful communication and the individualized support she provides.
In addition to supporting students and families, Gabby has become an invaluable resource for teachers across Lansing Elementary. Colleagues praised her willingness to assist with data analysis, instructional strategies, diagnostics, fluency practice, and reading interventions. She also helped bring the Book Taco reading program to second grade students, creating additional excitement and engagement around reading fluency.
Coworkers emphasized that Gabby’s contributions have gone far beyond her assigned responsibilities. Despite only being in Lansing for one year while her husband serves in the military, she has invested deeply in the school community. Staff members noted her leadership in helping establish PTA efforts and organizing fundraising opportunities that will continue benefiting students and families in the future.
Beyond her professional contributions, colleagues described Gabby as a trusted teammate, supportive friend, and positive presence within the building. One nominator shared that “Gabby goes so far above and beyond the call of duty; it is incredible.”
Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping students succeed have made a lasting impact on Lansing Elementary School.
