Hello, Lansing Virtual School Parents, Guardians, and Academic Learning Coaches!

Thank you so much for entrusting our district and staff with your students. We hope that they found the learning this semester engaging and fruitful. We had a great first semester and couldn’t have done it without all of you.

A few bits of information as we head into break:

  • The Lansing Virtual Academy does not follow the traditional USD 469 calendar, so students can continue to work on their classes and assignments throughout break if they would like. The program is designed for students to go at their own pace, so taking off some time will not adjust their course completion date greatly.

  • Having said that, the expectation is for all students to complete their coursework by the time the Academic Learning Coaches go on summer break, which is May 23rd, 2025. Please monitor your child’s progress, ensure that they are hitting their daily goals, and encourage them to work extra if the estimated completion date is after May 23rd.

  • State assessments will be held from April 28th

    to May 9th

at Lansing District Office. I will be communicating the sign up and completion plan in February for this. Reminder, only students in grades 3-8 and 10-11 take the state assessment.

  • To improve our Math and ELA skills, I have been able to secure IXL Learning accounts for all virtual students. They will be sent to you in mid-January, and I will work with our tech department to ensure the app is loaded onto the students’ iPads remotely.

Once again, thank you for all you do and have a wonderful holiday break!
