The Lansing Sea Lions are getting ready to make a splash this summer, and families are invited to be part of another exciting swim season at Lansing High School.

The 2026 Sea Lions season will run from Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, June 26, offering young swimmers the opportunity to build skills, stay active, and be part of a team-centered summer experience.

Registration Now Open

Families interested in joining the Sea Lions should note that the registration deadline is May 10, 2026. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.

Participants must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted to join the team, and a late fee will apply after the deadline if space remains available.

Practices & Location

Practices will be held Monday through Friday in the early morning at the Lansing High School Natatorium, with session lengths based on swimmer experience and ability.

Swimmers will be grouped into sessions ranging from 30 minutes to one hour, helping ensure appropriate instruction and development at every level. The final practice schedule will be shared after registration is complete.

Parent Meeting

Families are encouraged to attend a parent meeting on Sunday, May 24 at 4:00 p.m. at the Lansing Natatorium. This meeting will provide important season details and an opportunity to meet Head Coach David Bresser and the Sea Lions parent representatives.

Meet Schedule

Sea Lions swimmers will compete in weekly meets throughout June, with events typically held on Fridays. Warmups begin at 7:00 a.m., with meets starting at 7:30 a.m.

Lansing will host two home meets this season, along with opportunities to compete against teams from across the area, including Leavenworth, Baldwin City, and Bonner Springs.

What to Know

  • Team suits are optional, and alternatives are being explored as current options are being discontinued.

  • A used suit swap is available at the pool for families looking to save on equipment.

  • The team will continue using Swimmingly for meet entries and management, with the subscription included in registration.

Volunteers Make It Possible

The Sea Lions program relies heavily on family support. Meets are run almost entirely by volunteers, and families are asked to contribute time in roles such as timers, scorekeepers, or event helpers.

Stay Connected

Families can stay updated through email at lansingsealions@gmail.com or by following the team on Facebook.

The Lansing Sea Lions program continues to provide a fun, structured environment for swimmers to grow in confidence, build friendships, and enjoy the summer season. Families are encouraged to register early and dive into a great month of swimming.
