Students at Lansing Elementary School and Lansing Intermediate School enjoyed beautiful weather and school spirit during this year's PTA-sponsored Lansing Lion Fun Run.
The annual event brought students in kindergarten through fifth grade outside for a day of running, music, cheering, and even a few Gatorade dumps!
This year's Fun Run featured a Global Kitchen Club theme. Leading up to the event, students participated in daily lessons that introduced character traits through cooking and foods from around the world.
In addition to giving students a fun day with their classmates, the Fun Run raises money for programs and activities at both schools. Funds raised help the PTA provide field trip T-shirts, Field Day activities, Friday Folders, family events, and other resources for Lansing students.
For first-grader Brody Adamek, one of the highlights was watching a familiar face get soaked.
"The Fun Run was good! My favorite part was all of it!" Brody said. "It was funny when Mr. Eshbaugh got Gatorade dumped on him."
Kindergartener Theodore Thompson had a different favorite part.
"It was great! I liked the music and how everyone was holding hands and running together!" he said.
Students at Lansing Intermediate School also shared their excitement about the event.
"It felt amazing helping others!" said Marha Johnson.
Savannah Kent was proud of how fast she ran, sharing, "I have never ran so fast!"
A big thank you to the Lansing PTA for organizing another successful Fun Run, along with the families, volunteers, staff, and community members who helped make it happen. Your support makes a difference for students at both schools!
