Lansing USD469 is proud to recognize Darrell Denney, Custodian at Lansing Intermediate School, as the October 2026 Classified Staff Member of the Month!

Mr. Denney was honored during the October Board of Education meeting for his positive attitude and the meaningful relationships he has built with students and staff.

While his work maintaining the school building is an important part of his role, Mr. Denney's impact extends well beyond his custodial responsibilities.

Each day, he takes time to greet students in the cafeteria, ask about their day, and encourage them to work hard and make good choices. These daily interactions have helped him develop genuine connections with students who look forward to seeing him.

His colleagues also appreciate his strong work ethic, kindness, and willingness to go above and beyond to support the school community. He takes pride in creating an environment where teachers feel supported and students feel welcome.

Mr. Denney is a wonderful reminder that every staff member plays an important role in making our schools special. Through his encouragement, consistency, and genuine care for others, he makes a positive difference in the lives of Lansing students every day.
