Congratulations to Lansing Elementary School kindergarten teacher Melissa Pierce for being recognized as the Lansing USD 469 September 2026 Certified Staff Member of the month during the September board meeting.

Ms. Pierce was selected by Lansing Elementary School as its certified staff honoree as part of the district’s new Board of Education recognition process.

Her nomination highlighted the important role she has played in helping kindergarten students successfully begin the 2026–2027 school year.

“Ms. Pierce and the entire kindergarten team have done a tremendous job of helping our new kindergarteners,” her nomination stated. “Through collaboration and problem solving, Ms. Pierce has helped to provide solutions and relationship development early on in the 2026-27 school year.”

The nomination also recognized Ms. Pierce for the support she provides beyond her own classroom.

“Ms. Pierce’s willingness to support students and colleagues is another great example of our Culture of Belonging pillar here at LES.”
