Lansing High School Cheer kicked off the season with an impressive showing at the four-day National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Camp in Kansas City, Kansas, with both the Varsity and Junior Varsity squads earning numerous honors.

Varsity Cheer

Lansing Varsity Cheer received several top honors during camp, including Top Team recognition in both Chant and Game Day Cheer. The squad also received:

• Day 1 Herkie Award

  – Awarded to the squad that demonstrates outstanding team spirit, unity, and leadership, as voted on by the other squads at camp

• Superior Ribbon & Top Team – Chant

• Superior Ribbon – Band Chant

• Superior Ribbon & Top Team – Game Day Cheer

• Technical Excellence – Motions

• Stunt S.A.F.E. Award

• 12 All-American Nominations

• 4 All-Americans

• 1 Pin-It Forward Award

• National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Squad Credentialing

Junior Varsity Cheer

Lansing Junior Varsity Cheer also had an outstanding camp, earning Superior Ribbons in each of its performance categories. The squad received:

• Superior Ribbon – Chant

• Superior Ribbon – Band Chant

• Superior Ribbon – Game Day Cheer

• 6 All-American Nominations

• 1 All-American

• St. Jude Spirit Stick

  – Awarded to one team for completing the most letters in support of the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

• National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Squad Credentialing

Between the two squads, 18 Lansing cheerleaders received All-American nominations, with five earning All-American honors.
