Lansing Middle School is looking for community members to help our 8th grade students explore the many possibilities available to them after high school!
Throughout the school year, LMS is inviting adults from a variety of careers and educational backgrounds to share their career journey with students. Volunteers can talk about what they do, how they got where they are today, the education or training their career required, and lessons they have learned along the way.
Presentations will take place each Friday from 12:44–1:14 p.m. in the Lansing Middle School Library, with an LMS staff member present to provide support.
These conversations give students an opportunity to learn about careers directly from the people doing the work while also helping them understand that there are many different paths to a successful and fulfilling future. Whether your journey included a four-year university, community college, technical or trade school, military service, certifications, on-the-job training, entrepreneurship, or an unexpected change in direction, your experience can provide valuable insight for our students.
We would love to hear from professionals representing all types of careers and industries. Parents, guardians, alumni, local business owners, community partners, and other area professionals are encouraged to participate.
Community members interested in participating can sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D44A9AA2FA1FD0-64323439-career#/
Questions may be directed to Becky Wecas at becky.wecas@usd469.net.
Thank you to our Lansing community for continuing to share your time, talents, and experiences with our students!
