Congratulations Coach Hansen and LHS Wrestlers Graphic

Lansing High School wrestling coach Paul Hansen has earned the opportunity to represent Kansas on one of the biggest stages in high school wrestling.

Coach Hansen has been selected to serve on the Team Kansas coaching staff for the USA Wrestling Junior & 16U National Championships, commonly known as Fargo Nationals. The tournament, held each summer in Fargo, North Dakota, brings together the nation's top high school wrestlers to compete in Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling while showcasing their talents in front of college recruiters and national-level coaches.

This year's competition begins July 8, and Coach Hansen will be joined by three current Lansing High School wrestlers representing Team Kansas:

  • Riley Dilka

  • Sawyer Jorgensen

  • Noah Mathis

Coach Hansen's selection is a testament to the outstanding work he continues to do with Lansing's wrestling program. In addition to serving as the head wrestling coach at Lansing High School, he also coaches middle school football and assists with the high school baseball program, making a positive impact on student-athletes throughout the district.

For the past several years, Coach Hansen has helped guide many of Kansas' top wrestlers as part of Team Kansas, preparing athletes to compete against the nation's best while helping them grow both on and off the mat.

Fargo Nationals is widely regarded as the premier national championship event for high school wrestlers. The tournament gives athletes the opportunity to compete against elite competition from across the country while proudly representing their home state.

Congratulations to Coach Hansen, Riley Dilka, Sawyer Jorgensen, and Noah Mathis on this outstanding achievement. The Lansing community wishes them the very best as they represent Kansas on the national stage this summer!
