The Lansing High School baseball team wrapped up an outstanding 2026 season with a 19-9 season record and earned the No. 3 seed in the Class 5A East regional standings.

One of the highlights of the season was hosting the Class 5A Regional Tournament for the first time in program history, a goal the team had worked toward for several years. The Lions made the most of the opportunity, advancing to the regional championship game before falling in a hard-fought 3-2 contest to Shawnee Heights, which went on to finish as the Class 5A State Runner-Up.

"I was really proud of our kids this season," said Head Coach Michael Basler. "They grew and represented themselves and the USD 469 community exceptionally well."

In addition to the team's success on the field, several players were recognized with postseason honors for their outstanding performances.
