The Lansing USD 469 Board of Education recognized Maria Kuilan, bus monitor in the Transportation Department, as the district's Staff Member of the Month during its June Board of Education meeting.

Kuilan was nominated for her commitment to student safety, positive attitude, and the meaningful relationships she builds with students each day while serving on district bus routes.

Her nominator shared that Ms. Kuilan consistently goes above and beyond to create a welcoming environment for students. Her caring approach helps students feel valued and supported, while her attention to safety ensures they arrive at school and home safely each day.

Lansing USD 469 recognized the important role transportation staff play in supporting student success and thanked Kuilan for her dedication to Lansing students and families.
