Lansing High School Senior Earns Prestigious $10,000 ACE Mentor Scholarship

Lansing USD 469 is proud to announce that LHS senior Lauren Foster has been awarded a $10,000 scholarship through the ACE Mentor Program of Kansas City. Foster received the scholarship during the organization’s annual awards ceremony held April 22 at the Populous Architectural Firm in downtown Kansas City. The scholarship is sponsored by HCA, one of the major supporters of the ACE Mentor Program in the Kansas City area.

The ACE Mentor Program is a national organization dedicated to engaging, exciting, and enlightening high school students about careers in architecture, engineering, and construction. Through mentorship opportunities and industry connections, the program helps students explore career pathways while supporting their advancement into these professional fields.

Lansing students have participated in the ACE Mentor Program since the 2019 school year, creating valuable opportunities for students interested in architecture, engineering, and construction careers. Over that time, three Lansing seniors have earned ACE scholarships.

Grace Martin (Young) received a scholarship in 2020 and is now a graduate of the University of Central Missouri working in Construction Management. Ainsley Yoakam earned a scholarship in 2024 and is currently attending Purdue University pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Foster now joins that distinguished group as the 2026 scholarship recipient.

Foster plans to attend Kansas State University this fall to pursue a degree in Architectural Engineering.

Lansing students participating in the ACE Mentor Program are mentored by Megan Warner, a 2009 Lansing High School graduate who now works with Hollis + Miller Architects. Her mentorship has helped connect students with industry professionals and real-world experiences while encouraging future success in architecture, engineering, and construction fields.

The Lansing School District congratulates Lauren Foster on this outstanding achievement and wishes her continued success as she begins her journey at Kansas State University.
