Student Artwork Showcased at District Office Ahead of Board Meeting

Visitors to the Lansing USD 469 Board of Education May meeting will be welcomed by a display of student creativity, as artwork from Lansing High School students is currently on exhibit at the district office.

Lansing High School art teacher Jason Barnes delivered a collection of student pieces to be displayed, offering board members, staff, and community members another opportunity to experience the artwork before it is returned to the student artists. The pieces were originally featured in the district’s Art Showcase on April 18th, an event that drew strong attendance and highlighted the depth of artistic talent across Lansing schools.

The rotating display at the district office continues a growing effort to celebrate student work in visible, meaningful ways. Earlier this year, artwork from elementary students was featured, thanks to the efforts of art teacher Libby Stevenson, helping to bring color and creativity into the space for visitors and staff alike.

By extending the life of the showcase through displays like this, the district continues to highlight the importance of the arts and provide students with authentic opportunities to share their work with a wider audience.

Community members attending the upcoming board meeting are encouraged to take a few moments to enjoy the exhibit and recognize the creativity of Lansing’s student artists.
