LHS Students Take the Stage with Original SWAP One-Act Performances

Lansing High School theater students are bringing their creativity to life with the upcoming Student Written and Produced (SWAP) One-Act performances. This event highlights student talent both on and off the stage, with original scripts written, directed, and performed entirely by students.

The performances will take place on Friday, May 1, with tickets available for $5 online and at the door.

This year’s lineup features three original productions:

  • “A Date To Die For”
Written and directed by Joey Humbard
A supervillain-turned-superhero attempts to navigate the world of dating—with disastrous and hilarious results.

  • “The Confession”
Written and directed by Elizabeth Tanner
What begins as a teen drama quickly twists into a gripping murder mystery with an unexpected ending.

  • “This Is NOT A Musical”
Written by Avari Kite and directed by Abby Dominick
When John transfers to a high school where life feels like a musical, he struggles to adjust—but thankfully, his best friend Sam is there to help him through the chaos.

These one-act plays showcase the hard work, imagination, and dedication of LHS theater students. From writing and directing to acting and production, students have taken the lead in every aspect of these performances.
